Medicare cuts payments to 62 Missouri hospitals because of various reasons

Medicare will reduce payments to 62 Missouri hospitals because of high rates for patient readmissions, infection and injuries. Medicare can reduce readmission penalties by as much as 3 percent for each patient, but the average is much lower. Missouri hospitals will lose 1% of Medicare payments to patient safety through September.

2019 Medicare penalized the exact same number of Missouri hospitals because of the same reasons.
