Christopher Arps posted this earlier today on Facebook, prior to the video being released:
Seems to me that the narrative has indeed changed, from a innocent young, college bound kid to a violent thug who was stopped because he just robbed a QuikTrip liquor store and assaulted the store owner.
Police released still images and were planning to release video from the robbery, at a QuikTrip store in Ferguson. Jackson said Wilson, along with other officers, were called to the area after a 911 call reporting a strong-arm robbery at a nearby convenience store. He didnt immediately release details about the alleged robbery, saying more information would be released later.
Jackson provided few other details about Wilson at the news conference and did not take any questions. Jackson said Swisher Sweets cigars were stolen in the robbery. He was suspected of stealing the box of cigars. The documents released by authorities include surveillance images from the store.
According to the police reports, Brown and his friend, Dorian Johnson, were suspected of taking a box of cigars from a store in Ferguson that morning.

Compare those still with what Brown was wearing when he was shot:

It also explains why the officer identified as the one who shot Brown initially stopped him, and gives credibility to the narrative that Brown attacked him.
**The Chief said Brown wasnt stopped because of the robbery.
Id like to see the size of the officer compared to Brown. Perhaps Brown thought he could through him around like he allegedly did that store owner.

**UPDATE: I originally reported that Brown allegedly robbed a QuikTrip. This was an error. Changes were made to reflect that.
