On Friday night, tornadoes struck Missouri as well as five other states, causing possible 100 deaths and extensive property damage.

Max Olson, a storm chaser, captured some of the tornado activity in the Bootheel.

Missourinet News tweeted alerts as the storms hit the state after moving from Arkansas, through Missouri’s Bootheel and tearing through Illinois, Tennessee and Kentucky. Hayti and Caruthersville seem to have been the hardest-hit in Missouri, while the most casualties are being recorded in Kentucky.

Tornadoes are not common this late in the season, particularly this long-track supercell storm that caused the string to occur Friday night.
