Conservation Federation of MO requests hunters to share their harvest

Deer season is upon us in Missouri, and hunters are taking to the fields and woods across Missouri’s landscape this fall. Another season of Share The Harvest is underway. Missouri citizens have donated more than 4.4 million pounds worth of protein rich venison since 1992 when Share the Harvest was launched.

Share the Harvest is a WIN-WIN-WIN program. Hunters win by helping others in need, processing plants win by receiving positive feedback and donations of locker space. Participating organizations win by being able to offer a service project that is ready-made for a good cause. The meat is donated to local communities.

Tyler Schwartze, Conservation Federation of Missouri’s Executive Director, joins Show Me Today as he discusses the history of Conservation Federation of Missouri, the upcoming deer season and how to get involved in Share the Harvest.
